Core Values & Our Culture

*The Three Core Values of REUNION

Our Core Values are a call to be a part of a simple, yet profound faith expression in a community of Christ followers.

[Acts 2:41-47; Psalm 150, John 13:34-35, Ephesians 2:10; James 2:17]

[*FAITH]

Our concept of Faith embraces the larger concept of how we relate to God and what we believe worship truly means. Faith may take us to worship on Sundays but we seek to live out and communicate our love for Him through our lives as a whole.

[*COMMUNITY]

Our concept of Community embraces how we relate to others in the church and the level of unity we want to be known for. We connect together weekly in community groups to grow spiritually, and develop meaningful, healthy friendships. Biblical community is about sharing and living life together.

[*GENEROSITY]

Our concept of Generosity embraces how we relate to our culture. We believe we are blessed to be a blessing to our great city of Boston. Generosity begins with the use of our time, talents, and resources to build the church and create the Kingdom in our world.

*Our Culture

WE ENVISION A CHURCH IN WHICH...

• People live out their beliefs
• In essentials - unity; in matters of opinion - freedom; in all things - love
• We take God seriously but not ourselves
• The Biblical story of God is told and connected to our lives
• Art and creativity are valued
• Children and family are seen as gifts and responsibilities
• Hard work is encouraged and rest is observed
• Diversity becomes a mark we strive for
• The way we live will bring honor to God
• We see ourselves as missionaries in the places where God has us
• We use our abilities, gifts, and resources to bring the Kingdom of God here on earth
• Church health is our focus because healthy things grow
• New campuses and churches will be started
• The leading of God's Spirit is priority over all our plans and structures
• Justice is not just talked about, but lived
• We seek to be deeply connected to God and others beyond our gatherings
• We desire to live in, understand, and transform culture
• Theology is seen as relevant and practical
