Our Story
REUNION Christian Church began as a dream to see a church where people could reconnect with God and others through Christ. In October, 2004, Hank Wilson moved with his wife, Julie and 4 children, to Boston. He left a ministry in Montgomery, IL where he served as the pastor of one of the locations at Community Christian Church as well as the pastor of student ministries. Mike and Karen Brown, John Tischer, Phil McArdle and many others became a part of that first wave of people who relocated to the Boston area.
The first year was time spent primarily building relationships, fundraising, and in prayer for what would lie ahead. In March of 2006, we launched small groups that met in homes and began to find ways to serve in the community. In May of that year, our nameless newly formed community began meeting in the North End at the Boston Worship Center. During this time we grew from about 25 people to almost 70 as we prepared to launch weekly services.
We planned to launch in September of 2006 but we lost our original location in a movie theater. We postponed the launch of weekly services for 2 months until we were able to find a new location. Weekly services at our new location at the Back Bay Hilton Hotel started in November, but it wasn’t until February 18 of 2007 that we were able to launch with marketing and invites out to the community.
As the first year for REUNION comes to a close, we are extremely grateful for all that God has done on our behalf.
