WHAT TO BRING
June

Friday
A small kitchen with a mini fridge and microwave is available in our building. Our meals will be in another building on the retreat site. I’ve already shared dietary restrictions with the retreat center staff. Of course, I’ll be bringing snacks again for everyone (sponsored by Costco).

Todd has lived through 21 Boston winters since moving here from Tennessee for undergrad in 2004. After a decade in campus ministry, he began asking why so many people stalled in emotional and spiritual growth after college, despite having great information and strategies. That question led him to train extensively in neurotheology, integrating neuroscience and Christian spiritual formation to help people experience real change through small group trainings. Todd has been married to Tara for 17 years, has two sons, Jett and Declan, and loves the Celtics, running, and ranking great films and prestige TV.

Sometime before the retreat, take 10-15 minutes to brainstorm a few joyful moments from your life — times when you felt alive, present, or connected to God or the people around you.Think small. A warm conversation. A moment in nature. A time with friends where you just felt good.
A few questions to help you get there: When did you last feel genuinely joyful, peaceful, or connected — to God, someone you love, or just to life?
Let a few memories surface. You don't have to pick the "best" one. When one stands out, sit with it — where were you, who was there, what did it feel like? Don't stress about having it perfectly ready. We'll work through it together when we're there — we just didn't want anyone to feel caught off guard when we dive in.
