Holy Week Devotional 2025

Matt Chin

WELCOME HOME.

Everyone is on a journey to find what matters in life. Maybe you are tired, confused, worn out, or just looking for a place to belong. No matter where you are on your journey, you are welcome here.

In a world often clouded with disappointment and anxiety, where hope seems elusive, Easter offers a profound message of renewal and redemption. It beckons us to pause amidst life's chaos and consider a different path, one illuminated by the promise of hope. Regardless of your past or faith background, Easter invites us all to reflect on the possibility that even in our darkest moments, there is a flicker of hope that healing and transformation is waiting for us.

Our world talks a lot about peace, but most of us don’t feel it.

We’re stretched thin, uncertain about the future, and doing our best to hold it together.

The Christmas story often gets wrapped in nostalgia—but underneath the songs and lights is something raw and real: A story of God stepping into a world as anxious and chaotic as ours.

We’d love to see you this Christmas—whether it’s your first visit or your first in a long time.

Advent Series

Peace on Earth

In this four-week advent series, we’ll rediscover the nativity story through the eyes of Mary, Zechariah, the shepherds, and Joseph — ordinary people who encounter extraordinary peace in the middle of their fear, their waiting, their exhaustion, and their confusion. Their story invites us to consider what peace might look like for us today.

Experience Peace

Your First Visit: Some Helpful Tips

What to Expect

Our gathering typically lasts for 70 minutes and consists of worship and teaching. Here’s our usual Sunday rhythm:

Welcome. Get your coffee & connect before the gathering starts.
Worship. Sing along or just listen, it's up to you.
Meet & Greet. This is a time to connect with the people at REUNION, we’ll spend 5-10 min to meet someone new or catch up on life.
Kids. During meet and greet, our kids head to their classroom with our REUNION Kids team.
Teaching. Our messages are usually about 30 minutes long, based upon Scripture, thought-provoking, inspiring, and relevant.
Communion. Each week, we remember Jesus’ love and sacrifice. It’s a simple, meaningful practice that helps us refocus on grace and community. If you’d like to participate, you’re welcome to, but there’s absolutely no pressure.
Benediction. We close each gathering with a short prayer of blessing to encourage us before we leave.

Getting Here

REUNION meets at the Crystal Ballroom, located inside the historic Somerville Theatre building—right in the heart of Davis Square.

We’re incredibly easy to get to—just steps from the Davis Square stop on the Red Line (literally right next door!).

The entrance to the Crystal Ballroom is separate from the main theater. Look for the doors between Mr. Crêpe and the Somerville Theatre marquee. You’ll see a REUNION sign on the sidewalk to guide you in.Once inside, head up one level—either by stairs or elevator—and you’ll find us in the Crystal Ballroom. We can’t wait to welcome you!

Parking

On Sundays, metered parking and residential parking is free throughout the city of Somerville! We highlighted potential areas to park above.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

REUNION doesn't have pews or a steeples, just people to journey alongside. Because of that, our Sunday gatherings are designed to give people the chance to connect with God and each other. When we come together, we spend time chatting, praying, singing, and contemplating the big questions of life and faith.

When we gather, there isn't a dress code; just come in what feels good to you! When we sing, its usually a contemporary style of music, but we like to mix it up with some classic hymns from time to time. When our pastors speak, the talks tend to be brief and focus on how the good news of Jesus meets us wherever we are at in life. When we pray, we do so for each other, believing that God will answer.

During our gatherings, we want kids to have a fun place where they are safe and can learn to grow in the ways of Jesus. Our REUNION Kids classes do just that! Due to the ongoing pandemic, we have reduced our capacity to ensure the safety of our kids. Currently, we only offer a preschool age class during our gatherings.

In our efforts to keep kids safe, we've embraced the following guidelines: (1) enhanced cleaning protocols based on the most up to date CDC recommendations, (2) check-in symptom screening, (3) mask requirements for all volunteers and children above two years-old, and (4) vaccination requirements and increased PPE for all volunteers.
